Hack Any Windows OS using Command Prompt via a Limited Account

This is a trick which is always successful if you're given access to a limited account on a Windows OS and can use Command Prompt( or say MS-DOS), where restrictions are imposed(usually educational institutes do that). I knew about this from some time, and now posting it here.

   1. First of all, open Command Prompt. If Command Prompt is not where it should be(probably deleted), go to Run, and type cmd.exe and click OK. it will run.

   2. Now in the command prompt, type "net user pirate /ADD".
In the place of pirate, type any user name you want, to be used as the account name. I am creating a user named "pirate" here.

   3.  Now, type "net localgroup administrator pirate /add".
Our very own "pirate" will be an admin now. :-)

   4. Log off and log in to the computer by using the user account you have just created.
You're the admin now! Congrats! Party time! ;-)

This works smoothly on all Windows OS, before and including Windows XP.

However, in Windows Vista and 7, this is more tricky because by default even if you run Command Prompt, it can't have administrative priveleges to create a user account. This security hole has been fixed probably in these versions, and its great. :)

This is only for Educational purpose. Don't use it for any illegal use or where it can harm anyone...!!
I wont be responsible for anything.

Hide a File inside an Image

This is the trick to hide a secret message inside an image file

Follow these steps :

1. Gather the file you wish to bind, and the image file, and place them in a folder.
I will be using
C:\New Folder

-The image will hereby be referred to in all examples as xyz.jpg
-The file will hereby be referred to in all examples as New Text Document.txt

2. Add the file/files you will be injecting into the image into a WinRar .rar or .zip.
From here on, this will be referred to as (secret.rar)

3. Open command prompt by going to Start > Run > cmd.exe

4. In Command Prompt, navigate to the folder where your two files are by typing
cd location [ex: cd C:\New Folder]

5. Type [copy /b xyz.jpg + secret.rar xyz.jpg] (remove the brackets)

Congrats, as far as anyone viewing is concerned, this file looks like a JPEG,
acts like a JPEG, and is a JPEG, yet it now contains your file.

In order to view/extract your file, there are two options that you can take

a) Change the file extension from xyz.jpg to xyz.rar, then open and your file is there
b) Leave the file extension as is, right click, open with WinRar and your file is there.

Top Websites to get Facebook Cover photos

I hope everyone till now is aware about the new feature called "Timeline" by most popular social networking website, Facebook.

We love facebook for its never ending features and aplications. And Timeline is another one according to me.
A user posts a photo, which relates to them, or say is some funny one-liner, or a picture, a quote, or can be a landscape.

These photos called Cover Photo's are public, meaning they are visible to the public, to those who are not logged in on facebook.

This is a great feature to show off what you want to to visitors of your profile.

Here I am posting some links to websites which offer the best Cover photos.

Below is the cover photo of my profile on facebook.

Removing the "Task Manager disabled" problem in Windows

First of all for all those who dont know what task manager is, it is opened by pressing ctrl+alt+del keys.
Task manager lists all the processes that are running on your windows. You can switch, terminate the programs and processes. also some other reports can be seen there.

Now, lets get to the point. The malware disables the task manager saying

"Task manager has been disabled by admin".

To get rid of this malware, do the following steps:

1. Open Notepad in Windows.
2. Paste the following code in a new file, and name the file TaskManager.reg

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\taskmgr.exe]

3. Remember, save the file as TaskManager.exe, and place it anywhere like desktop and close notepad.
4. Open the TaskManager.exe file and click Yes when Windows asks you "Add Information to Registry?"
5. Enjoy the power of Task Manager!

Just installed Ubuntu 11.10

I just wanted to write about my experience (now of about 24hrs) with Ubuntu 11.10.
It is a Linux based OS, which has been developed from Debian.
The best thing about Linux based Operating System's is their Open Source license, that is no need to pay anything, and that it is developed by the best people of the world.

I didnt want to erase my already installed Windows XP due to some reasons. So the option was to install both the Operating Systems on the PC, such that every time the PC boots, it asks which OS you want to load.

I started by downloading an iso image of ubuntu 11.10 from Ubuntu's download page. I had downloaded a 32-bit version to be installed on my Pentium 4, 1GB RAM PC.

After burning the image to a CD, restarted the PC and changed BIOS settings to boot from CD. The setup was easy enough, and Ubuntu will guide throughout the way.

Then, select that you want to install Ubuntu along with Windows, so that everything runs normal.

Then, Just input some details like your name, country, keyboard format, and username with password, and you're ready to experience the power of Ubuntu in about 30 minutes.

Remember, the username you will use will not be the one that is displayed on the login screen of ubuntu.
Instead,"Your name" field is there which is used as the name of the account on login screen.

The installer continues in the meanwhile, and you can have a cup of coffee during that time.

Sorry to say, the above images are not my originals. Because the idea about blogging came just now. :-)

Here's the Ubuntu desktop on my PC :

Have installed Chromium browser(Google Chrome's original version) as it has more appealing and feature-rich interface than by default installed Mozilla Firefox. Yes, i do love mozilla too, but the love is a bit more for Chromium. :-)

Commands are typed in "terminal" of Ubuntu. It is just like command prompt of Windows, giving super powers to its user(only if they remember the codes to be used). Ubuntu is very secure from viruses and malwares because of its authentications needed when using administrative priveleges. It makes the admin do its normal work by being a normal user, and gives extra access only if needed and asks for password. This makes it secure.

More info about Ubuntu, if you're shifting from Windows is here.

Will write more about it after experiencing Ubuntu more. :-)

Do experience ubuntu!

Steve Jobs, Man Of The Century!

Just had a tough time selecting a topic to start from, or say about which i should open my heart out.
Making the choice a struggle were topics like a blog about my newly(just 15hrs ago) installed Ubuntu 11.10 Operating System, Open Source Softwares, about my start with learning Java, about my recent encounters with about 10 different type of CMS's(Content Management Systems), including Drupal, Joomla! and Wordpress, and praising Google for taking a lead in changing its privacy policy for the common user and its stand against SOPA. Need not mention, many many more topics are making rounds inside my head.

Finally, an old "news" just made me feel like it deserves to be talked about the most. It is about the departure of Steve Jobs, founder and CEO of Apple and some more big companies.

His life has been a great source of motivation for every "failure". His quotes, speech at a college convocation ceremony, and his "hunger" will always stay with me till death, i must admit.

"Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish"

This is a quote, that means a lot! He was always hungry even during his last days on Earth to work, to think of innivative ideas to make everything he's in, a success. And that's something that matters a lot!!!
We should not care about what people say, what your past has been, or what if you fail. Failure is a chance to learn, not to get discouraged.

Having illiterate parents, selling coke bottles to get food, sleeping out in front of hostel rooms, dropping out of college, having got fired from a company he himself had founded, not getting invited by the then US President for a dinner with the best people in the field of technology, and many more could not stop him from being himself!

The only thing he always had was hope, determination, focus, competitive spirit and his quest for success!!

What do you think a man can hope about, when he is having empty coke bottles surrounding him?

Constant hard work(yes, in the right path), not caring about your present troubles, having belief in your own work, and striving for success is all that differentiates a common man, and the successful ones. The difference is so huge, that generally we won't believe that this is all it takes.

I'm not going to write more quotes here, because you can get all of them by Googling, instead, the motive was to speak my heart out about the guy, who has become the biggest inspirational person for me.

Thanks Steve, for failing so many times, for going through hard times, so that everyone can hope for the best, everyone can stand up again after falling hard!

Hibernation mode?

Finally, i'm back here, ready to make blogging a part of my daily life.
I guess now, having spent almost 2 years in Engineering, at a time when i am between becoming an earner and a student enjoying life, I have got experience, enough to start writing about.
From computer science stuff, to nature, to photography, to some personal views and reviews, to religion, and about technology and programming languages, I will be writing blogs daily.
The writer inside me, is now awake, no more hibernation mode now :P

Life's Awesome, Enjoy It!!!
Be back with another post very soon.
